Shai spent years developing technological ideas into global companies, focusing on the Semiconductors, Communications and Internet segments.
Prior to co-founding TFV (now DFJ TFV) in 1999, Shai spent five years as Executive Vice President for Aladdin Knowledge Systems, helping it grow from 25 to 300 employees while growing revenues and profits over tenfold. Shai acts as the Chairman of chip vendor CopperGate since its first year of operation, and in 2001 he acted as CopperGate's CEO. Between 1993 and 1994, acting as CEO, he turned around cleantech vendor Ganot.
Among others, Shai currently serves on the boards of CopperGate Communications (Chairman), Allot Communications (NASDAQ: ALLT), EZchip (NASDAQ: EZCH), SuperFish and Aniboom. He is also responsible for the fund’s interest in Voltaire (NASDAQ: VOLT). His past investments and board positions include Native Networks (acquired by Alcatel), Teleknowledge (acquired by MTS) and Wave Systems (NASDAQ: WAVX).
Shai served at an elite airborne unit. He is a former member of the Israeli team handball national team. His interests include art, literature, outdoor sports and "anything that goes fast".
